Welcome to Brussels

The European Parliament is based in Strasbourg, Luxemburg and Brussels. The plenary sessions take place in Strasbourg, the MPs undertake their office work in Brussels, while part of the administration work ensues in Luxemburg. In Brussels, those interested can, for example, visit the Plenary Hall or the Parlamentarium (European Parliament Visitor's Centre) and experience a role play.

The Permanent Representation offers groups of 15 participants upwards presentations of its tasks or on EU specialist topics.

Information for visitor groups

Groups of 15 persons upwards, who are at least 15 years old, can visit the European Commission in Brussels. This institution offers general, specialised as well as individually designed information visits. Visitor groups should register at least ten weeks before the planned visit. For security reasons, there are no tours in the Commission buildings.

To the European Commission Visitor' Centre

The Visitors' Service organises information events for groups of 20 adults (or school pupils aged 15 or over) upwards, These last one or two hours and consist of a presentation and a round of questions. Registration should ensue at least three months in advance.

The Committee of the Regions organises information visits for citizens who wish to learn more about its work and the role of the regions in shaping EU legislation. Please enquire at the Visitors' Service two months in advance.

The Representation of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is also open for visitor groups. In comparison with EU institutions, it is still the most flexible with regard to visitors wishing to make an appointment. This is why it is advisable to first arrange an appointment with the other EU institutions and afterwards an appointment with the Representation of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Here too, it is a good idea to specify your desired key issues in advance.
