The Ministry of Justice of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for all constitutional and special legal issues, law enforcement and the social services of the judiciary. Furthermore, judicial auditing and economic consumer protection are also the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice. The Federal Commissioner for the Records of the State Security Service of the former GDR is assigned to the Ministry of Justice, as are the areas of rehabilitation and reparation in connection with the injustices of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). The Ministry of Justice is also responsible for church and religious affairs, the supervision of foundations, the testing of standards, deregulation and the dismantling of bureaucracy. The Ministry of Justice is also involved in legislative projects in the federal state and in the Federal Government.
